Managing my T2 diabetes - it's getting easier.
Hi, Jan here again checking in to share. I've had t2 diabetes for almost 20 years now (I'm just over 60) and I've found that in the last few years I've learnt to live with it and it's getting easier. I've found managing blood sugars a bit easier and I know when I can eat that big pink iced apple bun - and when I can't.
I love cooking and I'm told I'm great at it - my homemade lasagne is adored by friends and family and I love looking after them by feeding them. I'm careful about what I put in my cooking - I use less sugar than I use to that's for sure!
So I have to say that although the initial diagnosis was a big shock and took lots of getting used to, I think I have this under control now - and that's a good feeling. But if you're struggling still please know there is lots of help - much more than was available when I first was diagnosed.
